Before I dive into the good stuff (aka the pictures!) I have a little update. Last week I posted about Justin and Mary Marantz, and the amazing contest they were offering to do a shoot with them while we are at the WPPI Conference in Las Vegas next month. Well, they posted the results today, and I WON!! Along with 19 other photographers, I have an amazing opportunity to shoot with Justin and Mary and learn from them. I’m SO excited!
Okay, so speaking of contests, this winter I held my own contest to give away a wedding package to one lucky couple, and Cathy and Brian were my winners! We got together a few weeks ago to do their engagement session at the National Harbor, which is where Brian proposed, so it was perfect! It was so much fun to watch these two interact. I love the way they make each other laugh, and are so incredibly comfortable in their relationship.
So we started off the afternoon at the actual scene of the crime…the bench where Brian proposed!
And Cathy wasted no time bringing her A-game. Gorgeous!
They are SO cute together!
The National Harbor was decorated for the holidays when we went to visit, which was also perfect since Cathy and Brian will be getting married in a winter wonderland next December!
Work it, Cathy! :)
Brian, I think I managed to catch your “real” smile at least a few times!
Cathy wanted some pictures with the Christmas lights, so we took a little break to warm up and headed back outside for a little fun. It had been overcast all afternoon, but the clouds decided to open up to give us these gorgeous colors right at sunset.
I don’t usually shoot a lot of night time pictures, but it was definitely a fun experiment!
Holiday lights are always so magical…
…and a little bit romantic too!
Cathy and Brian – I had so much fun braving the cold with you two and having a few good laughs. I am so excited for your wedding this year!
